Best Mt. Fuji Helicopter Tours

A Mt. Fuji helicopter tour is a private charter, not a seat on a sightseeing bus. The useful comparison is not star ratings — it is duration, landing versus looping, group size, and whether you actually need to reach the mountain or only see it. Below are the four flights that cover those jobs.

Fuji + Hakone Full CircleBest overall

Fuji + Hakone Full Circle

Longest air time in this comparison, and the only five-seat Fuji circuit — which is what makes the group price make sense.

Duration
120 minutes
Capacity
Up to 5
From
$9,633
Price unit
per group (up to 5)

Who it's for: Families and small groups who can fill the cabin, and anyone treating the flight as the main event of the day rather than a transfer.

Fuji WineryBest for couples

Fuji Winery

You land, you sit down, and the cabin only holds three — which is the right math for a couple, not a family of five.

Duration
Most of a day, hotel to hotel
Capacity
Up to 3
From
$6,229
Price unit
per group (up to 3)

Who it's for: Two or three people celebrating something, or repeat Fuji visitors who do not need another viewpoint bus.

Fuji + KamakuraBest 90-minute scenic

Fuji + Kamakura

Long enough to reach the mountain, priced and seated for two or three — the gap between a Tokyo hop and the five-seat flagship.

Duration
90 minutes
Capacity
Up to 3
From
$4,572
Price unit
per group (up to 3)

Who it's for: Couples and trios who want a serious private mountain flight without a full-day hosted itinerary.

Tokyo → Fuji Transfer

The only charter in this set whose job is arrival, not a round trip — which is the whole difference versus every loop we list.

Duration
About 90 minutes door to landing, including briefing
Capacity
Up to 3
From
$4,399
Price unit
per group (up to 3)

Who it's for: Travelers with a Fuji-area hotel, glamping stay, or private car waiting on the Yamanashi side.

How to choose

Start with the job, not the mountain photo. If you want the most scenery in one flight and have four or five people, take the 120-minute Hakone full circle. If you are two people celebrating something, the winery day is a better use of money because you land, eat and spend time at the mountain rather than only circling it. If you need a serious scenic flight for two or three without a full-day itinerary, the 90-minute Kamakura routing is the clean mid-point. If you are staying in the Fuji region, book the one-way transfer and stop pretending a round-trip loop is transport.

Short 10–30 minute Tokyo city flights are listed on this site so the price ladder is honest. They are not Mt. Fuji tours. On a clear day you might glimpse the mountain from Tokyo Bay; that is not the same product as a Tokaido circuit.

What you are paying for

These flights are priced per group because the aircraft is yours. Filling five seats on the full circle changes the per-person number completely; leaving two seats empty on a three-seat ship does not. Weather, not the operator brochure, decides whether Fuji is visible. Build a buffer day if the view is the whole point.

Almost everything in this comparison departs from Tokyo Heliport in Shinkiba, on the east side of the city. Budget transfer time from Ginza, Shinjuku or the west-side hotels. The briefing and boarding process is longer than a 10-minute trial flight, which is why the short hops feel expensive for the minutes you are actually airborne.

FAQ

What is the best Mt. Fuji helicopter tour overall?
The 120-minute Mt. Fuji & Hakone Full Circle is the best overall flight if you want maximum scenery and can use up to five seats. Couples should look at the Fujisan Winery day instead.
Are Mt. Fuji helicopter tours private?
The flagship AIROS flights we compare are private for your group, with three or five seats depending on the aircraft. You are not sharing with strangers.
Can you see Mt. Fuji from a 10-minute Tokyo Bay flight?
Only as a distant silhouette in exceptional visibility. If Fuji is the reason you are shopping, book a 90- or 120-minute routing that actually leaves the city.
