How Much Does a Mt. Fuji Helicopter Tour Cost?

Prices are listed per group, in US dollars, and they move. Treat the figures below as a ladder, not a quote. The booking page is the live rate. The point of this page is to stop you mixing a $500 Tokyo Bay hop with a $9,000 Fuji circuit.

Tokyo Bay 10-minBest entry-level flight

Tokyo Bay 10-min

It sets the bottom of the ladder: private, short, bay-level — so the Fuji prices above it mean something.

Who it's for: First-timers who want the feeling of a helicopter without a Fuji-sized invoice.

Fuji + Kamakura

Long enough to reach the mountain, priced and seated for two or three — the gap between a Tokyo hop and the five-seat flagship.

Who it's for: Couples and trios who want a serious private mountain flight without a full-day hosted itinerary.

Tokyo → Fuji Transfer

The only charter in this set whose job is arrival, not a round trip — which is the whole difference versus every loop we list.

$4,399
Price unit

Who it's for: Travelers with a Fuji-area hotel, glamping stay, or private car waiting on the Yamanashi side.

You land, you sit down, and the cabin only holds three — which is the right math for a couple, not a family of five.

$6,229
Price unit
per group (up to 3)

Who it's for: Two or three people celebrating something, or repeat Fuji visitors who do not need another viewpoint bus.

Fuji + Hakone Full CircleBest overall

Fuji + Hakone Full Circle

Longest air time in this comparison, and the only five-seat Fuji circuit — which is what makes the group price make sense.

Duration
120 minutes
Capacity
Up to 5
From
$9,633
Price unit
per group (up to 5)

Who it's for: Families and small groups who can fill the cabin, and anyone treating the flight as the main event of the day rather than a transfer.

What the money buys

Under $1,600: private Tokyo city flights, 10–30 minutes. Fuji is not the product. Around $4,400–$4,600: either a 90-minute Fuji scenic for three, or a one-way 35-minute transfer to Oshino — similar money, different job. Around $6,200: winery round trip with lunch for three. Around $9,600: two hours over Hakone and Fuji for up to five.

Divide by seats before you compare. The full circle can be the cheapest Fuji experience per person in a full cabin and the most expensive in a pair. Taxes and fees are included on the AIROS listings we show; hotel pickup is not, except on the winery day.

Costs people forget

Shinkiba transfers, extra luggage on the one-way flight, a return from Oshino if you landed, and the risk of weather delay. Viator listings often include free cancellation up to 24 hours, but helicopters cancel for wind and visibility even after that window. Read the operator policy on the booking page — it matters more at this price than on a $80 walking tour.

FAQ

Why are Mt. Fuji helicopter tours so expensive compared with a day trip?
You are chartering an aircraft and crew, not a seat on a coach. Fuel, maintenance, Tokyo airspace and a tiny cabin capacity set the floor. The conventional day trip is cheaper because it is shared and slow.
Do prices include hotel pickup?
Only the Fujisan Winery itinerary lists chauffeured transfers. The others meet at Tokyo Heliport unless the live booking page says otherwise.
